Native New Health is an innovative series of health programs designed for Native Tribes by Native People. This series addresses a number of health topics of special concern to Natives.
Each episode has been designed to generate discussion, and to assist the viewer in making positive lifestyle choices.
The Native New Health DVD program topics include: Diabetes, Healthy Weight, Tobacco, Alcoholism, Heart Disease, Cancer, Suicide, Behavioral Addictions, Domestic Violence, Sexuality and Your Health, Oral Health, The Balance of Life.
The programs are hosted by Gina Guiboche and Edward Dunn.
Gina is a Canadian of Cree and Vuntut Gwichin ancestry and lives on Opaskwayak Cree Nation, of northern Manitoba, Canada. She has a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and just finished a doctoral program in Education.
Edward is a Canadian with Ojibway Nation ancestry from Northern Ontario and lives on the Tsuu T’ina Reserve in Alberta. Ed has a MPH and a PhD in Public Health.
